Further technical information:
NBR: Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, also known as nitrile rubber, abbreviation AB and NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber), is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and 1,3-butadiene and is a synthetic rubber. Vulcanisates of this rubber are highly resistant to mineral oils, greases and hydrocarbons. The material is marketed under the brand names Perbunan (formerly Buna N) or Europrene N, for example. There are also other brands of AB rubbers.
FKM: The term fluororubber (abbreviation FKM according to DIN ISO 1629 [formerly: FPM] and ASTM D 1418) refers to a group of rubbers that have vinylidene (di)fluoride (VDF) as one of their monomers as a common characteristic. Fluoroelastomers were developed in the 1950s by DuPont (Viton) and are now also offered by Solvay (Tecnoflon), Dyneon (Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomers) and Daikin Chemical (Dai-El).
